Newton, Mass.—The Industrial Distribution Assn. and Industrial Distribution magazine are collaborating to produce a series of product training manuals for industrial distributors. To date, 10 manuals are available covering the following topics: saw blades, cutting tools, abrasives, hand tools, power tools, machine tools & accessories, tool & die supplies, chemicals & lubricants, maintenance supplies and materials handling equipment.

Each manual is an introductory guide to the product. They can be used to train new employees or as a refresher course for existing employees. Included in each guide is a history of the product, a market overview, definitions, usage tips, "upselling" ideas, quizzes, hands-on activities, and more. Each manual also includes a final self-test.
