Eclipse gives distributors toll-free B2B access

By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 11/1/2000

Shelton, Conn.-Software provider Eclipse, Inc., is giving customers toll-free access to several business-to-business portals and exchanges.

Eclipse said its eConnect Suite has already been used to integrate to several trading exchanges using a variety of innovative technologies including Extensible Markup Language, an emerging technology that allows computer systems to seamlessly communicate with one another.

"It will enable our customers to participate in many dot-com marketplaces without forcing them to pass through any single proprietary exchange," says CEO Michael London. Eclipse said it will continue to reject charging transaction fees and monthly subscription costs so that customers "use the Internet as a freeway-not a toll way-for transacting business."
