Pentacon turns to ECOutlook for savings

By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 11/1/2000

Houston-Fasteners and small parts distributor Pentacon hopes to slash its value-added network and data transmission fees by working with ECOutlook.com, an e-business services vendor.

ECOutlook created Pentacon's online advanced inventory system, and will replace the VAN that Pentacon uses to send EDI documents to large customers. The vendor says it will also reduce inventory procurement costs.

"We use 35 unique EDI document types and send thousands of EDI transmissions a month to this group of customers," said Rory McClure, Pentacon's e-Commerce director. "The cost savings that we anticipate from this initiative are dollars that flow straight to the bottom line."
