Former pols lend technology advice
Former Republican vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp has joined the board of directors for BuildNet, Inc., a provider of management software and e-commerce services to the residential construction industry. Kemp has been recognized as an advocate for strong economic growth, free markets, free trade, tax simplification and lower tax rates on both work and investment. Kemp serves on the board of directors of several other technology companies, including Oracle and Proxicom.
In addition, this spring EqualFooting.com announced that former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole will serve as a strategic consultant to the company. In that role, Dole will advise EqualFooting.com's management team on issues ranging from corporate partnerships to grassroots marketing to small business outreach activities. Dole currently serves as special counsel to the law firm of Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand.
