Feather shafting is up to 66% lighter than conventional steel shafting; light weight makes shafting ideal for use by designers of automation components, assembly machinery and portable equipment; starting with a 6061-T6 aluminum material, feather shafting is ceramic coated to a MIL-8625 specification; has consistent surface hardness of RC70 and an average thickness of .002, providing an excellent running surface for Simplicity self-lubricated linear bearings; will not rust and delivers superior corrosion resistance; available in 3 configurations: solid round shafts; pre-drilled version; integrated 1-piece extrusion.
