ISEA creates new post

ISEA -- The Safety Equipment Assn. recently named Joseph L. Walker to the newly created role of marketing communications advisor. Walker is responsible for ISEA's enhanced program to promote the importance of using safety equipment on the job and at home, and to educate users on how to select the right safety equipment.

Walker brings 26 years' communications experience to the ISEA position, including eight years in marketing communications with a major industrial company, and the last 11 years handling marketing communications and promotions for Washington, D.C.-based trade associations. Prior to that position, he was communications director for the Chlorine Institute, which promotes safety and environmental protection on behalf of the chlorine industry. He was also with Pittsburgh-based PPG Industries, a manufacturer of glass, chemicals, paints and fiberglass. Walker spent seven years as a newspaper reporter and editor, as well.
