ID/Baird Index takes a hit

Since last month, the collective market cap of the 22 stocks included in the ID/Baird Index declined 9.4 percent, taking the index to new lows since it debuted in January. For the year, the ID/Baird Index is up 2.9 percent. Applied Industrial (down 20 percent), Barnes, W.W. Grainger, Industrial Distribution Group, Pentacon, Kaman, Lawson, Vallen, WESCO, Questron and Genuine Parts recorded the most significant declines, while those posting the most significant improvement included White Cap, which gained on news of a management buyout, and Airgas, Fastenal, MSC Industrial and Premier Farnell.
