Murray State wins fluid power competition

By Industrial Distribution Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 9/1/1999

Murray State University in Murray, Ky., is the winner of the 1999 Spring Semester National Fluid Power Design Competition. A team of students created the winning entry, titled Yo-Yo Miniature Factory, a picking machine that identifies yo-yo's by their design and color.

The Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, was named runner-up, and Spokane Community College of Spokane, Wash., placed third.

The National Fluid Power Design Competition is sponsored by the Fluid Power Distributors Assn. and the Fluid Power Education Foundation. The competition will continue in the fall, when all entrants have the chance to win a $5,000 scholarship for their school, a trip to FPDA's 2000 Annual Conference in Acapulco, and a trip to Chicago to demonstrate their project at the International Fluid Power Exposition 2000.
