Rollup of janitorial supply firms planned
By Industrial Distribution Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 8/1/1999
LANHAM, MD--Four East Coast janitorial-sanitary supply distributors plan to merge into a $90 million company called Nexway. The founding companies include Accommodation Moline of Philadelphia; Crown Sanitary Supply, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Dayton Products Co., Lanham, Md.; and Edmar Cleaning Corp. of New York City.
A merger is expected to be completed by early fall, which company officials hope will create more unified service for customers from New York to Florida, in the Caribbean basin and Latin America.
"It's basically going to be a merger of equals," said Jeffrey Turner, marketing director at Daycon. "It will be real good for our customers, especially those that are expanding outside our immediate region. This allows us to have more ability to serve them up and down the East Coast."
"Our customers will benefit from the increased buying power, advanced technology and wide geographic reach that this merger will bring," Accommodation Mollen president David Potack said in a released statement.
Future expansion through the acquisition of other members is a possibility, Turner said.
