VAP in full swing following convention; to seek Value Added Partner of the Year
By Industrial Distribution Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 7/1/1999
CLEVELAND--The American Supply and Machinery Manufacturers' Assn. launched the Value Added Partner program in May at its joint Spring Convention with the Industrial Distribution Assn. The goal of the VAP program is to remind end users of the value-added benefits they receive by purchasing MRO supplies from industrial distributors. The program includes a video, packing tape, stickers, letterhead, logo sheets, pins, and plaques that manufacturers and distributors can use throughout their businesses to send the value-added message to customers.
"As we in ASMMA and the distribution channel face the new millennium, there is no issue more critical to our success in the future than telling our value added story to the end user," says outgoing ASMMA president Jim Falduto, president of Wilton Corp. "That's why ASMMA has taken the initiative to create an exciting grass-roots program that focuses on the dynamic, long-established partnership between MROP manufacturers and distributors."
As a second part of the program, ASMMA plans to sponsor a competition to determine the Value Added Partner of the Year.
