The Power Transmission Handbook, a reference guide and educational tool for those in the power transmission/motion control industry, is available from the Power Transmission Distributors Assn.The most recent version contains 250 pages covering: power transmission fundamentals; bearings; belt drives; clutches and brakes; conveyors and components; couplings and U-joints; gears; hydraulics and pneumatics; linear motion; motors; adjustable-speed drives; controls and sensors; and PT accessories.
The handbook is divided into 14 chapters that focus on products, technologies, applications and more. The chapters include charts, diagrams, drawings and photos of relevant products and systems.
The Power Transmission Handbook is written for the entry-level employee, but its easy-to-read format and comprehensive content is also useful to experienced engineers as a reference guide, according to PTDA.
