Hannover Fair to highlight Chilean industry

By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 4/1/1999

Hannover Fair '99, the world's largest industrial fair, will feature Chile as its special "partner country." The platform will spotlight Chile's strengths as a country that boasts extensive natural resources, a highly skilled workforce and a strong services infrastructure. In support of Chile's participation in the show, Chilean President Eduardo Frei will attend the event's official opening ceremony.

A special display area will feature 70 Chilean exhibitors representing business enterprises, external trade organizations and export associations. Participants will include 40 small and medium-sized companies from the metalworking, mechanical engineering, electronics, electrical engineering, food processing and software sectors. Those companies will be joined by 15 enterprises involved in diverse areas that range from raw materials processing to financial services. The public sector will also contribute 15 exhibitors.

Hannover Fair '99 will be held April 19-24 in Hannover, Germany.
