NAHAD celebrates its 15th in San Antonio
By John J Keough -- Industrial Distribution, 4/1/1999
It seems hard to believe that NAHAD is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. As one who has attended nearly every NAHAD convention, it is refreshing to see how this association has grown into an international group representing the hose and accessories industry. This year, NAHAD has taken association benefits to a new level. A comprehensive training curriculum program is expected to be completed in 1999. Tentatively named the NAHAD Institute, the training curriculum model will assist member firms in defining their employee training needs and in delivering cost-effective solutions, according to Joe Thompson, NAHAD's executive vice president. In addition, after two years of intensive work by NAHAD volunteers, final drafts of several new hose assembly standards are nearing completion. And NAHAD now has its own home page at www.nahad.org for industry updates, news, product searches and discussion groups.
NAHAD could not have accomplished all that it has without the support of its volunteer members. The association has a strong board of directors and outstanding leaders that have taken it to new heights.
The past presidents of NAHAD should be recognized for their outstanding work to make the association one of the leading groups in the distribution business. They are: Harry Hooper, Ed Fabacher, Jr., George Carver, Allan Beverly, Bob Lyons, Mike Summers, Dick Hall, Howard Neff, Jim Mitchell, Mike Lentz, Curtis Sprague, Alan Talbot and Tom Slater.
Industrial Distribution magazine is proud of the relationship it has had with NAHAD for the past 15 years and we look forward to working even closer in the next 15.
Have a great convention!
