FPDA celebrates 25th anniversary

Tucson, Ariz.--The Fluid Power Distributors Assn. will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the 1999 Annual Conference in Tucson, Ariz. next month.FPDA officials expect about 500 attendees at the silver anniversary celebration.
The conference theme will focus on technologies that help reduce channel costs, inventory management, and logistics as part of the channel cost reduction process. Educational sessions led by noted industry consultants such as Dave Kahle, Al Bates and Bill McCleave will revolve around that theme.
Kahle's presentation, titled "Slashing Slop from the Sales Channel," will focus on reducing channel costs by improving the sales function. Bates, president of the Profit Planning Group, will unveil FPDA's new profit survey, which replaces the former Distributor Productivity Report. And McCleave will focus on the role of the small distributor in the channel, for today and for the future. Other key sessions will focus on the high-tech industry, inventory management and electronic commerce.
The convention will be held at Tucson's Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, Feb. 20-24.
