By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 1/1/1999
AWS and MDA team up for charity. The American Welding Society Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. have joined forces to offer St. Louis Cardinals fans the chance to see some great baseball and help two good causes. The opening weekend of baseball in St. Louis will be the setting for a "Charity Bash" to raise money for children with neuromuscular disease and for vocational education. The celebration will also give fans the opportunity to see Mark McGwire open a new homerun season. On April 11, 1999, the AWS/MDA Charity Bash will be held at Busch Stadium as the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Cincinnati Reds. Each $50 charity ticket includes a terrace seat and complimentary food and beverages during the game. AWS and MDA will share $14 of each ticket. The money will go to support the MDA and the AWS Foundation, which provides scholarships for students seeking vocational education. For more information, call AWS at (800) 443-9353.
