The great debate: voice mail

Jack:Couldn't agree with you more. We went to voice mail last year, and it's been terrific! I get a few hang-ups now and then, but it certainly helps our customers and salespeople alike. A real-live receptionist answers our phone during business hours, transferring the call to the correct department or individual. If the individual is out of the office, the option is given to go in to voice mail.
I guess the biggest responsibility we have to live up to is ... to answer the messages promptly. Sometimes telephone tag is unavoidable, but voice mail sure makes it easier. Too often, that "good business sense" is forgotten.
