DREF report to highlight I.D.A. meeting
By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 10/1/1998
Chicago, Ill.--Members of the American Supply and Machinery Manufacturer's Assn. and the Industrial Distribution Assn. will be among the first to hear the findings of the latest "Facing the Forces of Change" report, due out next month.Rick Prohammer, principal with Arthur Andersen & Co., will share the results during a feature presentation at the two groups' joint Fall Convention, to be held Nov. 21-23 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in suburban Chicago.
The "Facing the Forces of Change" report is published every three years by the National Assn. of Wholesaler-Distributors and its Distribution Research and Education Foundation.
Convention planners are excited about the timely presentation, noting that past reports have been accurate in projecting the future landscape of distribution. Planners say the 1998 report should be particularly interesting given the current pace of industry change. Prohammer will present the findings during the general session on Sunday, Nov. 22.
ASMMA and I.D.A. expect attendance to be in line with the nearly 2,000 manufacturers and distributors who turned out for the meeting last year. In addition to the NAW report, the meeting will feature a full schedule of educational workshops and a day-and-a-half Conference Booth Program, in which manufacturers and distributors can meet to discuss business matters.
