FQA compliance workshops and guide available

The National Fastener Distributors Assn. has published a compliance guide and plans more workshops to help companies deal with the Fastener Quality Act.The guide provides an overview of regulations and sections on: selling FQA fasteners; traceability; recording of insignias; maintaining records; grandfathered fasteners; purchasing fasteners manufactured in and outside of the U.S.; enforcement/penalties; distributor testing for quality control; lab requirements, accreditations and much more. It costs $150 for NFDA members, $250 for others.
One-day workshops conducted by consultant Dave Edgerly and other knowledgeable industry representatives will be held on the following dates:
* June 5, Los Angeles. Sponsored by the Western Assn. of Fastener Distributors and the Los Angeles Fastener Assn.
* June 26, Houston, Tex. Sponsored by the Southwestern Fastener Assn.
* Sept. 16, Chicago. Sponsored by the CBNSA in conjunction with their show.
Cost of the workshops is $150/person for NFDA-sponsoring companies or regional association members; $300 for non-NFDA or regional association members. For more information call NFDA at (216) 579-1571.
