Job-Fill Hunting

By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 5/1/1998

Enjoyed your article. I am the coordinator of Industrial Distribution at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. We have 42 graduates this year and they are having lots of fun interviewing and trying to decide which job offer looks the most promising. We have a hybrid degree combining technical and business skills.

I have the fastest growing program on campus. We are seen as the "glamorous" degree program. The profession isn't seen as glamorous largely because it has a rather unsophisticated past. Technology and customer demand for industry smart salespeople will change all that. By 2005, industrial distribution will be seen as a sophisticated business.

Something I've noticed over the years -- smart people migrate to money; money migrates to smart people. Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Don Envick
