Glove sales up in fourth quarter

Glove sales up in fourth quarter. The National Industrial Glove Distributors Assn. reports that distributor glove sales were up 12.7 percent in the fourth quarter of 1997, as compared to the same quarter in 1996. The information was gleaned from NIGDA's Quarterly Industry Conditions Survey.Data from the survey also indicated that distributors' three-month inventory turnover increased from 4.2 turns in the third quarter to 6.2. Participating NIGDA distributors anticipate a 7.3 percent increase in sales for the first quarter of 1998. NIGDA officials said they anticipate 1998 sales to be up slightly over 1997.
