Race car driver makes pitch for welding industry. The American Welding Society recently announced the release of a public service announcement narrated by race car driver Bobby Rahal. The PSA illustrates the critical need for welders in the United States and the importance of welding to a prosperous economy. In other news, AWS' National Educational Scholarship Committee recently gave out $10,000 in scholarships to deserving undergraduate students. Three of the $2,500 scholarships are for students seeking welding degrees and one is for a student seeking a business management degree to be used in a welding distributorship or retail environment. This year's scholarships went to students at The Ohio State University, Ferris State University, and Southwest Missouri State University.
