By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 5/1/1998
Atlanta, Ga.--The Industrial Distribution Assn. has extended an invitation to former President George Bush to give the keynote speech at the 1999 ASMMA/I.D.A. Spring Convention. The meeting will be held April 30 to May 4 in San Francisco, Calif.I.D.A. executive vice president Gary Buffington says Bush is available for the convention date, but has not yet accepted the invitation. At press time, Buffington said he hoped to get a response from Bush by the end of April.
Bush would be the third in a line of key political figures to address the ASMMA/I.D.A. general session. Last year, retired U.S. General Colin Powell delivered the keynote address in Nashville, Tenn. This year's main speaker is former British Prime Minister John Major.
