Houston, Tex.--DXP Enterprises, Inc., a holding company for Sepco Industries, Strategic Supply and Pelican State Supply, has announced the acquisition of Tri-Electric Supply. Based in San Antonio, Tri-Electric is an electrical supply distributor with annual sales of approximately $16 million. DXP had annual sales of $169.7 million in 1997."The acquisition of Tri-Electric fills a strategic need for DXP in the electrical supply area," David R. Little, chairman and chief executive officer of DXP Enterprises, said in a release. "We are excited about including electric supplies in our product line. We believe this addition positions our company to meet the needs of the majority of our MRO customers and establishes a presence for us in all major product lines of industrial distribution."
DXP's recent acquisition of Tri-Electric is part of the company's strategy of enhancing its position as a single source industrial distributor with first-tier distribution capabilities for a broad range of maintenance, repair and operating products, equipment and services. The electrical supply product category complements DXP's existing product lines and will help to differentiate the company as a single source distributor within the industrial market.
