PTDA partners with LEGO

By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 2/1/1998

Rosemont, Ill.--The Power Transmission Distributors Assn. recently launched an educational initiative with LEGO Dacta(reg), the educational division of the LEGO(reg) building block company, to introduce grade school children to power transmission products, concepts and technology.

PTDA members can participate in the unique program by purchasing one of LEGO Dacta's newest products -- "Simple and Motorized Ma-chines'' -- at a discount and donate the classroom pack to schools in their community.

Designed for children in grades four to eight, the learning tool teaches children the principles of mechanical engineering and power transmission product applications. The classroom pack includes CAD software to let kids design their own machines and all of the LEGO parts necessary to build them, including a nine-volt motor.
