FPDA to focus on communication
By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 2/1/1998
Cherry Hill, N.J.--At its Annual Meeting next month, the Fluid Power Distributors Assn. will present the first in a series of manufacturer-distributor partnership improvement programs. Titled "Discovering a New World of Communications," the meeting will tackle what FPDA stresses is the basis of all relationships -- communication. With lush Puerto Rico as a backdrop, FPDA© members will explore ways to improve interpersonal communication skills, participate in workshop sessions, and absorb the information presented by a line-up of key speakers. The meeting will be held at Puerto Rico's Westin Rio Mar resort, March 1-5.
Speakers include Scott McKain, author of "All Business is Show Business;" Al Bates of the Profit Planning Group; Jeffrey C. Susbauer, a faculty member of the College of Business Administration at Cleveland State University; and Robert Nadeau, research director for the Industrial Performance Group.
The meeting topic was a result of several focus group sessions involving member distributors and manufacturers. The group identified the major factors that directly affect the relationship between the manufacturer and distributor. Over the next few years, FPDA will tackle each of the critical areas identified, and provide members with the tools necessary to address the concerns in the working environment.
