Platinum, FocusSoft complete merger

Irvine, Calif.--Platinum Software Corp. has announced its acquisition of FocusSoft, Inc., of Louisville, Ky., a provider of mid-market manufacturing and distribution software solutions.

With the merger Platinum has assembled a unique mid-market enterprise resource planning offering that is equally strong in accounting and manufacturing functions, the company said. For more than three years Platinum and FocusSoft developed an integrated third-party software application designed for manufacturing and distribution industries.

Platinum issued 2.7 million shares of common stock for outstanding shares and stock options of FocusSoft, valuing the deal at $27 million. The merger follows Platinum's acquisition of Clientele Software in June.
