By Staff -- Industrial Distribution, 1/1/1998
Baltimore, Md.--Though a merger of the Industrial Safety Equipment Assn. and the Safety Equipment Distributors Assn. is not imminent, the two groups will hold a joint annual meeting this year. For the last year, the two groups have discussed joining forces to form a new trade association. In October, the SEDA board of directors voted to continue those discussions, but with no timetable for decisions.
In the meantime, ISEA and SEDA will hold their first joint Annual Meeting July 12-15 at the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. The meeting will combine traditions from each association. It will begin with a keynote session on Sunday. Monday morning will feature a contact booth program, followed by separate general sessions for the two associations. Tuesday's programming will be for manufacturers and distributors. The traditional golf and tennis tournaments and other recreational activities will occupy Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
