NEDA honors leaders before record crowd

The National Electronic Distributors Assn. presented several prestigious awards at its executive conference held in Chicago, Oct. 26-28. The eight awards were given out before a record crowd of 380 attendees.NEDA bestowed its highest honor, the Gail S. Carter Award, on William R. Feth, president and CEO of AESCO Electronics in Akron, Ohio. The Gail S. Carter Award is given to electronic distribution principals who have made significant contributions to the distribution industry, have taken an active role in NEDA and civic affairs, and are recognized by the industry as leaders.
Feth has worked in the industry for over 20 years and has been active in NEDA since 1984, holding various positions on the association's board of directors and its education foundation.
In addition to the Gail S. Carter Award, six individuals were recognized for their contributions to the leadership and activities of the electronic distribution industry and the association. The Distinguished Service awards went to: Chuck Anella, executive vice president of Zack Electronics; Dick Bentley, executive vice president of Marshall Industries; Ron Deslauriers, manager, Pan-Link Products; Mike Frank, distribution center manager, Kent Electronics; Brian Hilton, Motorola SPS; and Rod Spear, strategic programs, TTI, Inc.
NEDA's 1997 Manufacturer's Award was given to Texas Instruments. The award recognizes the manufacturer that "best exemplifies the true spirit of partnership between manufacturers and distributors.''...
