Sonepar USA acquires Essco Wholesale Electric

Sonepar USA acquired Essco Wholesale Electric of Chandler, Ariz., for an undisclosed amount.
Essco has 14 locations in Arizona and California. The deal brings the total number of branches for the Philadelphia-based American subsidiary of French electrical distributor Sonepar SA to 253.
“We are delighted to welcome Essco to our family of businesses. ESSCO not only has a great reputation for service, but the company provides an entry point for Sonepar USA to expand into Arizona and California,” president Tony Burr said. “This expansion of our footprint with a well-established company such as Essco is a great move for Sonepar USA and a major opportunity for strengthening our position on the West Coast.”
Sonepar ranked first on INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION’s 2007 Top 10 List of Electrical Distributors, with 2006 sales of $12.4 billion.
